We are continuing our series this week, James: Let’s Talk About it! In this series we talk about difficult things that James addresses in very practical matters of life and godliness!! 

Take some time today to read the book of James (Pastor Jared said it will only take you 25 minutes), and prepare your hearts and minds as we continue this series. 

We are in a new sermon series looking at the life of the prophet Elijah. Elijah’s, whose name means, The Lord Is My God, is one of the most dynamic people in the Bible. In the books of the kings we read of Elijah as: The Troubler of Israel /  the prophet of rain and fire / the man who raised the widows son to life /  a man of God / a slayer of the prophets of Baal / zealous for God / carried away in the chariot of fire. And in the New Testament we see Elijah appearing with Jesus and Moses on the Mount of Transfiguration. 

But we also find in the book of James, “Elijah was a man just like us.” Just like us??!! He reads like someone who deserves his own Marvel franchise. But Elijah struggled. He struggled with anxiety, despair, unbelief, weakness, loneliness, and lack. 

There is much to learn about Elijah. From the heights of the Mt. Carmel showdown to running away in despair to the wilderness, we learn of God’s undeniable power, provision, and faithfulness. Join us this Sunday at 10:30 as we continue this powerful sermon series.

We are currently in a sermon series from the book of Jonah. This is such an interesting book because we all think we know the story:

• A Whale of a Tale
• The Tale of a Whale
• The Worst Missionary Ever
• Running from God  / Questioning God / Submitting to God
• A Prayer from the Depths

While these are all common themes, there is so much more to this short book. Join us this month as we discover one of the clearest Old Testament examples of God’s love for the world.

We are currently in a sermon series called Living Generously. In this series we discover the true “why” we are called to live a generous life. Because truthfully many of us give merely out of tradition. It is just something we’ve always done; something our parents have done. Some of us give out of obligation because someone told us it it the right thing to do.

The big idea in this sermon series is: Generosity is the overflow of a humble heart and thankfulness to God. When we truly understand “why” we are called to live a generous life, we will see our giving as the act of faith and worship to God.

“60% of Christians who regularly attend church say there is no such thing as the Holy Spirit. That it is a symbol of presence, power, or purity.” George Barna. These are people who regularly attend church!! These are people who say they believe in God and the Bible, but not the Spirit. So in many churches we don’t teach about the Spirit because of fear or we see the abuse of Him.

But this is a major problem. If we fail to understand and teach the Holy Spirit we are missing out on the fulness of who God is. Join us for our sermon series Holy Spirit: Help is Here.
