Who Should Be Baptized?
Baptism is an opportunity for us to identify ourselves publicly with Christ. Once we place our faith and trust in Jesus Christ as our Savior, baptism is the next step. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus tells his followers to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit…”
What Does Baptism Represent?
Baptism is not an action necessary for our salvation. It is an outward expression of what God is doing in us and through us on our journey with Him. The actual action of being baptized represents that we are dead to our old life (going under the water) and have been symbolically washed clean as we walk in our new life with God (rising out of the water).
If You Have Been Baptized Before
If you have been baptized before but it wasn’t after you put your faith and trust in Christ, we would simply ask you to prayerfully consider being baptized by immersion.
Baptisms at Connect
We want you to invite your friends and family to join the celebration as you are baptized. A host will introduce you and read your story of how you became a follower of Christ.
